Spring was just around

...the corner and now it is almost fall. I had a pretty busy spring and summer and haven't got nothing to do with the El Camino. Well, I did manage to swap those two tires that kept depleting to those two from the "original" set that didn't deplete, so I now have a mix set of 5th gen wheels on the front and those "cool" steel wheels from the 70's in the back.

Oh, yeah, I did manage to take out the starter and it seems to be dead.

And one reason why it didn't do anything when turning the key was that this white wire should have connected to the starter.

Electric hardware

Painless Performance 28-Circuit Wiring Harness

I have been thinking about this a quite a lot. Since I need to do something to with electric wiring, should I upgrade my wiring and fuse box right now or later.

I mean I am not doing ground up restoration right now, I just need to make things work so that I can get my El Camino on the road.

Now it might take a while to get to that point that I can drive my El Camino, because there is so much to do and I lack the inspiration to do anything, but this might be just about right time to order one of these  options and install them when needed.

Scored new door panels

I picked up few days ago a set of new door panels for my El Camino.

A set of new door panels were for sale on local Craigslist and I bought them. I knew they were light coloured and as I haven't yet checked what was the original colour for my El Camino, I am glad that I got them.

I paid 150€ for them and I checked what they are currently priced and I got them half the price, not to mention no shipping and taxes to pay, so this was great score.

As you can see my current door panels are destroyed beyond repair.

Quick test fitting and they look awesome. My previous El Caminos all had black interior and I might go with the light one on this, even if original is dark one.

New used parts part 2

A few months ago I bought a quite a lot of spare parts and some used parts. I have been meaning to make a post about it and shoot a video for my YouTube channel, but I haven't got anything done. Because I am procrastinating with this whole thing.

I made a video out it too, and personally appearing in it too.

I also took out the skeleton of the driver side seat and test fitted the seat that I bought cheaply from local craigslist.

I searched where these might be, but couldn't find any, but then I run into someone on the internet and that person said it might be from a Blazer.

Out with the old and in with the used. I know that the newer one bolt pattern is completely different, so I, either drill new holes or make some sort bracket for it.

It fits, but is a bit too forward. Oh and it doesn't have the tilting forward function so, if you want to put something in the back or the smugglers compartment, no can do.

I am just feeling it, driving this baby on the winding roads on hot summer evenings, cool breeze on my hair as I hang my left hand out of the window.
